Facebook awareness
Whereas we always welcome letters and pictures from our members, we would like to make you aware that, regrettably, MAGIC volunteers and committee members cannot accept friendship requests from any of the children, unless they are family or friends.

This is due to considerations of the child protection requirements.

Local Offer Requirements
Medway Council SEND Pathfinder team are developing a web site to record information about services and support that is available locally for families and children or young people aged 0-25 with disabilities or special educational needs.

This work is driven by Part 3 of the Children and Families Act and the Special Educational Needs and Disability Regulations 2014 (Part4) , which places a duty on local authorities to publish and keep under review the Local Offer which brings together information about services they expect to be available for children and young people with special educational needs aged 0-25.

The intention of the local offer is to improve choice and transparency for families. It will also be an important resource for professionals in understanding the range of services and provision in the local area. A further key role for the local offer will be to inform the joint commissioning for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities by setting out in a single place what is available locally and identify any gaps in provision.

In order to meet the requirements of the proposed new legislation and offer appropriate and timely information to children, families, young people and professionals, Medway Council SEND Pathfinder team are contacting providers and asking them to publish responses to a set of questions on their web site. In return, the service description and web link of the organisation in question will be added to the Local Offer web site.

MAGIC’s response to this request can be found here.
